Current plan for the path পথ
Thu Feb 21, 2019 12:34 am
The current plan is for the path to be redone, because of the concrete being cracked.
(The reason it is cracked it has been said is because of access to services and therefore pieces being placed on top in pieces. It is brittle (concrete) and eg the bin collection could be a heavy load sometimes.)
The plan given was to do it in bitumen, black.
The option of a sand colour was considered (in the form of bonded resin gravel). It is possible to put this on top of the black bitumen. One resident on the ground floor would prefer that it stays the same colour as it is currently. It is noted (by the Council, and a resident) that resin bonded gravel would be quite easily damaged after eg a year.
A resident said that: Another option would be concrete, as is there now, however, it would mean a lot of work (and probably dust) to get the floor ready for this.
Another option mentioned by the resident, would be bitumen of a different colour (eg green, brown). A nearby resident thought that it should be the same colour as North Court, which is grey (and because the building is Grade II Listed too).
A nearby resident is still requesting a resin bonded gravel, to cover the bitumin.

Council rep reply on coloured bitumen

The Council department contact has said that coloured bitumen would be too expensive, because it would be very difficult to make.
The colour is due to be black and it is to be done very soon. It will look like roads do. The colour will fade over time (don't know how long).

The path was completed last week-end (as this website was started).
Today, the work on the path is finished, and the court-yard is looking neat and spacious.
